Optician/Optical Technician Part Time

Looking for the right person to join our family friendly, private eye care practice in the heart of Oakville. Qualified candidate must have the following attributes:

• Must be willing to learn

We would prefer experience, but will be willing to train the right individual to join our practice for the long haul. We are looking for someone to learn all aspects of the business. All employees are cross-trained.

Key responsibilities include, but not limited to, the following:

• Frame selection

• Lens recommendations

• Taking measurements for eyewear

• Eyewear adjustments, repairs and trouble shooting

• Use of lensometer

• Calculating costs of glasses based on insurance coverage

• Conduct all pre exam testing, training will be provided

• Assist with contact lens teaching sessions

• Enter charges, collecting payments

• Assist with scheduling patients

• Obtain insurance authorization and verification

• Prepare charts
